Give Pearls for Mother’s Day

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Mother’s Day is now just two months away. Now is the time to plan that perfect Mother’s Day gift she’ll be talking about all year round. And what could be more perfect that stunning pearl jewelry?

You have so many choices when you decide to give pearl jewelry for Mother’s Day. Pearls are available in a rainbow of colors - from delicate pastel colors to deep and bold colors. They are also available in large to small sizes, ideal to compliment every woman and every pearl jewelry style. For every woman there is the ideal pearl jewelry available!

When giving cultured pearl jewelry for Mother’s Day, remember that the actual giving of the gift matters as much as the gift itself. Have the cultured pearl jewelry gift wrapped. Include a thoughtful Mother’s Day card that shares your love and good sentiments. Try adding additional gifts such as flowers or a box of your mother’s favorite chocolates with the gift. She’ll be so thrilled to receive that beautiful cultured pearl jewelry - she’ll try it on that very moment and wear it for the entire day! It is best for that reason to plan to take Mom out somewhere special for lunch, brunch or dinner so she can show off her new cultured pearl jewelry in the grand style. Try choosing her favorite restaurant or that new place she’s been talking about going to.

Cultured pearl earrings are an ideal choice for many. Drop pearl earrings are a very feminine look. They look wonderful with both daytime and evening looks. “Button” style pearl earrings are also a great choice, with a single pearl in each earring. These classic earrings are a favorite of many Moms.

Try a cultured pearl bracelet for a Mother’s Day gift she’ll always remember. Every time she looks at her hand and wrist, she’ll recall that thoughtful moment you gave her this lovely and radiant cultured pearl bracelet. A pearl bracelet often has a dainty and very feminine look. Especially ideal for the petite or small boned woman.

The princess length cultured pearl necklace is another excellent choice for a Mother’s Day gift. Mom will treasure this necklace - and the length is ideal to wear for daytime looks including lunch with friends or her favorite sport activities like a game of tennis. Or for more formal evenings like a special evening out with family and friends or a night at the theatre.

One of the best things about giving Mom cultured pearls for Mother’s Day is that she will enjoy this gift for many years to come. Every time she takes out that stunning gift of pearl jewelry, she’ll remember that special moment when you gave these thoughtful pearls to her. Why it is like celebrating Mother’s Day every day! Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers.

Spring Cleaning for Your Favorite Pearls

Friday, March 5th, 2010

We’re entering Spring soon and what could be more perfect than Spring cleaning your favorite pearls? It’s a fact: the better you care for your pearls, the longer they will last. If you dream of handing down your favorite set of pearls to your granddaughter on her wedding day, take the steps now to care for them properly. You’ll have that magic moment!

The little pearl care steps you take each day actually matter a lot. You might think, “it doesn’t matter if I leave my pearl necklace by my bedside” or “I’ll just take off my pearl necklace before I take off my makeup” - but DON’T! Every time you take that extra moment to take care of your pearls, it makes a great difference. Pearls are a natural gemstone and they are sensitive to their environment. They will pick up what they rub on or what is sprayed near them. Tiny care steps today mean beautiful pearls for tomorrow.

One of our best pearl care steps is “first on and first off.” Put your pearls on before your makeup and hair care products. Take your pearls off before you remove your makeup and hair care products. This alone can make a tremendous difference.

Let Spring be a reminder to have your pearls checked for possible restringing. This is a Spring cleaning tip we often will neglect, because we love wearing our pearls and don’t want to stop wearing them - even  for a short while! But taking them to your favorite jeweler to be checked and possibly restrung can make a great difference. It can mean long lasting pearls for you and the coming generations.

Always have a special keepsake place for your favorite pearls. Pearls are gentle and need to be stored in their own location. A small jewelry box dedicated to your pearl jewelry can be an ideal choice. Or a natural cloth gently wrapping your pearl jewelry while in your current jewelry box is another option for you to consider. Your pearl jewelry needs a place it belongs at the end of the day. Take that extra moment and put it back so you know it is safe. Safe from any particles that could stick to them. Safe from an adorable toddler’s grabbing hands. Safe from a pet who could play or even chew on them. Or simply safe from  you misplacing them!

Consider having your pearl jewelry actually cleaned for Spring cleaning. Some pearl jewelry can easily be cleaned with a small touch of warm water and gentle cotton cloth. But ask your jeweler for guidance before cleaning your lovely pearl jewelry. Better to use the correct application - and your jeweler may have some specific advice we can’t give - as we can’t see your exact piece of pearl jewelry in this moment!

Spring cleaning is a wonderful ritual. Everything all new and fresh. Let your pearl jewelry sparkle and shine, looking as lovely as ever. Enjoy your beautiful pearls!

Spring Brides: Find Your Ideal Pearl Style!

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

bridal-pearlsSpring brides: are you ready for your wedding day? Every detail matters, and Mastoloni knows that every bride has her own special pearl style. Find your bridal pearl style to easily compliment you and your wedding gown. This pearl style will help you look even more radiant and lovelier than ever on your wedding day!

What neckline does your wedding dress have? This is a top question to consider when finding your pearl style. Today’s brides and pearl lovers have many different pearl jewelry styles to choose from. A square neckline would be complimented well either by a choker or a princess length pearl necklace. A ballet neckline could be complimented nicely with a rope pearl necklace for a stunning look. The pearls should be balanced both with the lines of your dress as well as the style of your wedding gown.

What style is your wedding gown? This is another important question to think about to choose a bride’s ideal pearl style. The bride marrying in a vintage wedding dress may wish to choose pearls that reflect that period in history. A bride with a “flapper” style wedding dress may choose a long, rope pearl necklace popular in that day and age.

What pearl styles do you adore? Now this is probably one of the most thoughtful questions a bride should reflect on to find her ideal bridal pearl style. Your pearls should “speak” about your personal style and what you enjoy the most. If a choker and a romantic pearl bracelet tied with a ribbon sounds like the most divine pearl jewelry to you - do your best to see if this style would compliment your wedding dress. Remember that all eyes are on the bride and will watch to see what personal touches you add today on your wedding day.

What pearls do you love? A bride who loves pearls knows that pearls are not “only” the white and ivory pearls we often see in pearl jewelry - there are pearls ranging in a rainbow of colors. While your dress may be white - your wedding jewelry can be vibrant, colorful or filled with soft pastel colors that speak of your feminine beauty. Use the pearls in every size and shape to express your personality. Ask your jeweler for suggestions in finding the best pearls for your style and taste if you have questions.

Don’t be limited by “only” the dainty pearl jewelry seen on brides. This is your special day. A black tie wedding could be the ideal affair to wear your deep and bold Tahitian pearl choker necklace with your wedding dress. Try several ropes of colorful seed pearls for a unique look for your natural beach themed wedding.

Congratulations on your wonderful Spring wedding. We know you will look radiant on your wedding day wearing your favorite pearls!

Perfect Pearl Gifts For Spring

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

springtime-jewelrySpring is just a few weeks away and now is the perfect time to think about pearl gifts for the season. What could be more lovely that pearls in Springtime? The season when all of the flowers are in bloom and every stunning woman is wearing her favorite pearl jewelry.

Try some of these popular pearl jewelry favorites for ideal Spring jewelry choices:

Pearl earrings are a great choice as a pearl jewelry gift for any woman you’d like to give a Springtime gift to. Whether for that special birthday or “just because,” a pair of pearl earrings are suited to either daytime or evening wear. Look for pearl “button” style earrings that have singular pearls. These come in every size, shape and color one can imagine. From the classic white or ivory cultured pearl to the bright and colorful Tahitian pearls or the stunning Akoya pearls!

A rope pearl necklace is another terrific choice for Springtime jewelry. The rope pearl necklace is suited for many lovely Springtime fashions that draw attention to the face and neckline. The sundress is a popular choice with many women starting to wear this in Springtime. A rope necklace can be gently tied or double strung to create a custom choker style look you’ll love.

The pearl bracelet is a very feminine look that is special and perfect for Spring looks. Spring fashions are lighter fabrics, lighter colors and involve less clothing. The arms are often covered with shorter sleeves or even sleeveless fashions. A pearl bracelet gently draws the attention to your wrist, arms and hands - in a feminine way. Choose the pearl bracelet for the unique woman in your life.

A princess length pearl necklace is another excellent choice. This is one of the most classic pearl necklace lengths and is very popular in the Springtime or during other seasons as it is very versatile. Wear your princess length pearl necklace while playing a game of tennis or while at the club eating lunch with friends. Or while out on the town with your husband or that special someone! The princess pearl necklace easily compliments so many looks.

To best show off your pearl jewelry for Spring fashions remember to exfoliate your skin and consider using a touch of self-bronzing powder or self-tanning lotion. A bit of a tan in the beginning of Spring will bring a lovely glow to your skin and compliment the lustre of the pearl jewelry even more than before. Well exfoliated skin shows your skin at its very best - and whenever you wear Spring fashions, more of your skin is exposed most of the time.

Our top fashion tip: This Spring season try a different type of pearl jewelry in your wardrobe. If you always wear pearl earrings, add a pearl bracelet to your Spring wardrobe. If you love your pearl necklace, try including some pearl earrings to match. We know you’ll find some new lovely pearl looks you’ll fall in love with this Spring!

“Don’t pearls need special care?” This is a concern some have about buying pearls for themselves or a gift for someone they love.

Yes, pearls DO require special care to ensure they last as long as they can. However, every form of fine jewelry actually requires some type of maintenance to keep it in its best condition. Fortunately with pearls - there are easy pearl care solutions you can use. Caring for your pearls doesn’t have to be a bothersome chore. Let’s share with you some of our favorite tips:

1. First to put on & the first to take off. This is a very simple pearl care rule to keep in mind. As you are getting dressed, put your pearls on before adding makeup or hair care items. Your makeup or hair products have fine particles that can cause damage to the natural gemstones we love - pearls. Be sure your pearls are the first thing you take off. This keeps pearls in good condition and away from your perfume, hair care products or makeup as you undress.

2. Always have a special place for your pearls. Now this is one of our top easy pearl care tips. One’s pearls need to be kept in a special place, away from your other jewelry. You don’t want other jewelry to rub or bump up against your fine and delicate pearls as this can cause damage to them. Their own jewelry box or even a soft, natural cloth like cotton are ideal choices. Always keep your pearls dry and in cool climates, not too hot or too cold.

3. Develop a routine for putting your pearls back in their special place. Many women will take off their favorite jewelry and leave it on their dresser or by their nightstand. This is a big mistake when it comes to your favorite pearls. It leaves them vulnerable to a number of challenges - one of the biggest is that you will simply misplace them! No matter how busy your day or how tired you are at the end of it, put your pearls away. You’ll be glad you did.

4. Have your pearls restrung annually and cared for by a professional jeweler. Now this is a very easy pearl care tip that will greatly extend the life of your pearls. We’ve all seen those dramatic movie scenes where someone grabs at a pearl necklace at it falls apart in their hands - pearls spilling onto the floor. Ask your jeweler for advice as to what schedule you should keep to regularly restring your pearls - most often this is an annual occurrence - but it may depend on your exact piece of jewelry.

For more tips about caring for your pearls, please visit the home of The Most Beautiful Pearls In The World.

As you can see - pearl care doesn’t have to be difficult. For the most part it is the little things we do each day to take care of something beautiful that we love. Aren’t your favorite, precious pearls worth it? We thought you’d agree!

Enjoying Your Pearls in Springtime

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

spring-pearlsSpring fashions can easily be complimented by pearls. There are so many lovely looks you can create by adding your favorite pearls - or try adding fine pearl jewelry from the latest collections to follow current trends.

Colorful pearls are an ideal way to spice up your wardrobe. Try turning to the lovely Akoya pearls, South Sea pearls and other lovely cultured pearls available in a rainbow of colors today. From the bolder colors such as eggplant purple, steel-like silver, dark as night black or deep navy. Or try the softer pastel colors to easily compliment lovely Spring looks like lavender, pale pink, peach, gold and pale green.

Spring is the perfect time to draw attention to your neck and shoulders. Try adding that favorite pearl necklace or brooch to draw the eyes to your lovely pearls and also your Spring fashion looks. Spring styles easily bring more attention to our neck, arms and shoulders as these parts of our body are now uncovered with Winter finally over. Take advantage of these warmer temperatures and share your lovely pearl necklace and brooch looks.

There are often opportunities during Spring to dress up, whether celebrating a holiday, special birthday or milestone occasion. Spring has also become quite popular for weddings. This is a lovely time to wear your pearls. Add your favorite pearl earrings to any dressy outfit to make it that more complete. Sets of pearl jewelry add style and panache. When you wear a pearl necklace, bracelet and pearl earrings you simply look more lovely than ever!

What would Springtime be without our favorite sports? Now is the perfect time to play tennis, golf or simply go for a wonderful walk and enjoy nature’s beauty. But don’t fret: this doesn’t mean you have to leave your pearls behind. Choose pearl favorites such as pearl stud or “button” earrings - or even small pearl drop earrings to easily compliment your athletic looks. Or try a shorter style pearl necklace such as a princess length necklace, easily worn while you are playing your favorite sport.

There’s so much to enjoy about Spring and many choose this time to visit family and friends - whether near or far this is often a favorite activity. The children often have a Spring week off from school and it is an easy time to plan that special vacation to gather everyone dear to you. Don’t forget those wonderful pearls on your vacation. Remember to pack them gently and carefully in a soft cloth and away from anything they could rub against. Putting them in a small sturdy box in your carry on is also an excellent idea to protect them - allowing for further enjoyment.

As anyone can see - Spring is one of the lovelier seasons we do enjoy. And what could be more lovely than enjoying our favorite pearls? Spring will soon be here - get your pearls ready now for this warm and sunny season!

5 Ways to Tell Your PreTeen is Ready for Pearls

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

preteen-jewelry-readyYour preteen daughter’s first pearls are an exciting first step! But you may wonder, “is she truly ready?”

Pearls are delicate and need to be handled gently for best care. Not every preteen is truly ready to handle fine jewelry at any specific age. Every parent knows their child is different - even different from their other siblings. Here are some ways you can tell if they are ready to own their very first set of pearl jewelry:

1. Do they act in a responsible way for their belongings? Taking good care of their cell phone, schoolbooks and other items can be a good sign that  your preteen is ready to own fine pearl jewelry. The preteen daughter who doesn’t lose her cell phone is less likely to lose her fine pearl jewelry.

2. Is your preteen organized? While every parent may wish their preteen was a bit neater - let’s talk about being organized: an organized person can find things easily and has systems in place that work for them. Can your preteen daughter find things when you ask her where they are? This is another very good sign she is ready to own cultured pearl jewelry.

3. Does she show an interest in her mother or sister’s pearls? Expressing an interest in a family member or friend’s pearls is an important step in owning her own pearls. The preteen with a passion for pearls is far more likely to take good care of them - than one who is less curious about them. If your daughter has been given the opportunity to wear her mother’s pearls for special occasions or to try her sister’s pearls on - this can get her very excited about owning her very own fine pearl jewelry.

4. What other responsibilities does your preteen have? This is an important factor to consider. Any pearl lover knows that pearls need to be put back in their safe place every night. They also need to be the first thing you put on and the last thing you take off. A busy preteen may have trouble keeping track of all of this information. Then again - the busy preteen may be the one who can manage many priorities at once! It is up to you to decide if your preteen daughter fits into either category.

5. When you know your preteen daughter wants pearls most of all. This is an important step. Any pearl lover can easily recognize when another pearl lover has fallen in love with pearls. When you discover this love for pearls for the very first time as a preteen or adult woman - you understand and respect that pearls need special care. That passion for pearls inspires you to take excellent care of your pearls.

Fine pearl jewelry is an ideal choice for that special birthday, holiday gift or another milestone such as good grades or another accomplishment. Enjoy your beautiful pearls!

Give Your Teenage Daughter Pearls for Valentine’s Day

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Pearl lovers know that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. What could be a more ideal Valentine’s Day gift than pearls for your teenage daughter? Pearls are the gift of love and sentiment - certainly something you’d want to express to your teenage daughter on Valentine’s Day. Many teenagers are grown up and mature enough to manage owning “real” jewelry such as fine pearl jewelry.

There are some very popular styles of pearl jewelry that your teenage daughter will simply adore for Valentine’s Day. Giving her any of these will be a perfect gift she will treasure and think of you always. The best thing about giving pearl jewelry as a gift for Valentine’s Day is that every time she wears it - she will think of her parents and their thoughtfulness. That special Valentine’s Day moment will come back to her time and time again.

Pearls are the essential now. With jeans or a T-shirt or dressed for a gala. Suited, booted, anywhere your are going they’ll get you there in style. One strand does it all. 100 inches of pearl power gives you fashion by the yard. Looped, knotted, or layered, over a dozen looks with a single rope of glorious lotus pearls.

100 Inches of pearls 1

100inches of pearls 2

Pearl earrings are also a popular gift to give your teenage daughter. There are many styles of fine pearl earrings that your teenage daughter would appreciate for Valentine’s Day. Drop pearl earrings offer a very feminine look for your daughter. Pearl “button” or stud earrings are a great look for many teens. The best thing about the gift of fine pearl earrings is that teens who enjoy many different fashion styles will appreciate them. You can find small to large pearls and pearls in a rainbow of colors available as fine pearl earrings.

A pearl bracelet is another ideal choice for your teenage daughter. This pearl jewelry style will draw attention to her arm, wrist and hand as she wears it. The pearl bracelet is perfect for the teenage daughter who prefers a feminine style of jewelry and may have a touch of a romantic heart. There are many pearl bracelet styles that have charms hanging from them - a fun look especially for teens. Or try a pearl bracelet done in seed pearls for a unique look she’ll enjoy always.

The classic princess length pearl necklace is the perfect choice for many teenage daughter. The best thing about giving this pearl necklace style is it easily compliments both daytime and evening looks. She can wear it to that school music recital performance - and also to a casual backyard barbecue where she wants to look special even dressed down. A princess length pearl necklace will gently touch the edge of her collarbone, comfortable fitting your teen and will be easily seen no matter what fashions she chooses to wear.

As you give your daughter pearls for Valentine’s Day, remember to teach her gentle care instructions. The best instructions are simple and easy to follow. Most teenage girls can easily care for pearls when they know what needs to be done. We suggest:

“First on, first off” - put on your pearls before makeup or hair care and take them off before undressing.

Choose a special place for your pearls. Put them away in a cool and dry place where they won’t rub against other jewelry, even other pearls.

Always put your pearls away, don’t leave them out for best care.

Have pearls restrung regularly for ideal care. Ask your jeweler for the suggested schedule for your pearl jewelry selections.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
